Red Light Ramen was founded in 2016 and is owned by local father daughter duo Joseph and Korina Langevin. Korina travelled to Japan, where she began to grasp the culture of soul food as ramen. She also lived in San Francisco where she sampled some of the best west coast ramen cuisine available outside of Japan. Korina is currently a student of herbal medicine where she applies these skills through her apothecary and medicinally influenced cocktail menu.
Joseph entered the industry decades ago, Red Light Ramen being his fifth restaurant. “We both felt the need for a ramen restaurant in Nelson. We saw a community of gastronome connoisseurs, athletes, draft dodgers and farmers craving sustenance. We were right.” Between Josephs experience in the industry and Korina’s yearning to create a unique intimate dining experience, Red Light has become a staple for our local and international clientele.
